I no longer wish to use "star love" by late night drive home as the lack of a narrative within the song has not inspired me at all. I may choose, instead, to use "Killer Queen" by Queen as I think it would be interesting to consider the libertine movement, which spanned across the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries as well as the excess and maximalism of the 80s. I think the mix of the 80s' love for excess and decadence along with the libertine ideals of partying, drinking and smoking could certainly mirror many of the lyrics.
Also, whilst researching French rap as part of a homework task, I watched some music videos and one that was very interesting to me was "Nouveau Western" by MC Solaar.
The use of frames is very interesting in this music video. Whilst the genres of rock and rap are quite different, the transitions and frames within frames (like the sliding up of the car window) are really fascinating.
